Despite my focus on skincare products, my first love was definitely makeup. Over time I realised that good skin tends to mean that makeup becomes 10x easier! I have also gradually moved towards more creamy, dewy makeup that enhances my natural features and choosing to experiment more with my eye makeup which will effect my skin less.
I love a cream bronzer. They have a way of making you look so healthy and glowy without having to apply loads of layers of product. I have tried quite a few in my time but this Soleil Tan De Chanel cream bronzer is one of my absolute favourites.
The product is a lightweight cream-gel texture that blends beautifully. It has a velvet- matte finish for a natural glow and is a non-comedogenic formula so it doesn’t block pores. I find that I can put this over any skincare and still works well and doesn’t move around when applying other products on top. The packaging is really simple but gorgeous and is huge which is ideal especially considering the higher price.
My only issues with this, and many of Chanel’s other makeup products, is their very limited range of skin tones that they provide for. This bronzer comes in one shade and it’s called ‘universal’- what a joke! Especially in light of recent events, they need to do better to be more diverse and inclusive; at this point that is a basic requirement for any beauty brand.
Aside from this, if you are lucky enough to have the right skin tone, this is a really beautiful cream bronzer that has never failed me. I will however, have to consider whether I would repurchase this due to the shade range.
What do you think? Does Chanel get away with it because they’re a luxury brand or should they be doing better? Leave your thoughts below.
